I went to theater last Friday afternoon to watch the movie, "Life of PI." It is a story about a boy survived 227 days from a shipwreck that in the Pacific Ocean with a tiger named Richard Parker. At the beginning of the movie when it was introducing Pi's childhood, I felt a little boring and almost fell asleep. But the following plot attracts me a lot, it shows how Pi deal with the days that he has to make himself much stronger, that he has to encourage himself not to give up his hope, and also that he has to make himself believe that he has the chance to survive.
In the end of the movie, Pi had told two totally different stories. I felt very confused, couldn't understand what is the story wants to tell us, and also couldn't bear which story is the real situation. Today, my classmate told me that the second story is true. I was stunning when I heard she said because the second that Pi told is too cruel to believe. And there are also a lot of symbolization mentioned in the novel, but in the movie, the director use distinct way to film to express to show. I decided to buy the novel to fully realize what the story is talking about so that I can figure out why the director use this kind of shots in the second time I watch it. I think it is a good story that worth me reading it deeper and I think I will love the story.
It sounds that "Life of Pi" is quite abstruse but it's pity that I haven't seen it...... I think I will see it in the near future and may have lots of feed back. I like this director very much. He is born in our country and he never give up. Although he faced many obstacles in his career, he still overcame them step by step. Therefore, I admire him very much and expect he can make more good movies.
